We are delighted to announce that Emily Death has joined Sophie Hayes Foundation as permanent Chief Executive Officer. Emily brings an extensive track record in policy, advocacy, fundraising, and leadership.

Emily worked as Director of the international political development Consultancy Global Partners Governance (GPG) from 2019-2023. Here, she led the organisation’s global staff team to deliver international development programmes, including around women’s empowerment and leadership, modern slavery and human trafficking. Emily delivered thought leadership, research and analysis for a broad range of clients.  Prior to this, Emily worked for over six years at the Alliance of Liberals & Democrats for Europe (ALDE) Party, a European political party based in Brussels, representing liberal and democratic parties across the European continent. Emily established and led the Party’s Events and Fundraising Unit and provided training internationally for political parties and women candidates on political fundraising and engagement strategies.

Emily Death

"I am a passionate believer in equity, freedom, and human rights and my proudest achievements have been in the field of gender equality. I'm excited to bring this experience to the incredible work of Sophie Hayes Foundation on sustainable freedom for women survivors of trafficking and slavery, and to work alongside its brilliant and dedicated team.

Together with the team, we are looking ahead to many opportunities in 2024 to broaden the scope of our support to survivors, to advocate for them and their experiences, and to work with a wide range of new and existing partners to open up meaningful opportunities for engagement. In the face of the current challenging climate for survivors in the UK, this support is needed now more than ever. I am very much looking forward to meeting with individuals and groups who have partnered with Sophie Hayes Foundation, would like to do so, or are interested in finding out more about our work – please get in touch:  emily@sophiehayesfoundation.org ”
